This unique membership is robust and flexible, acting as a travel risk management platform – to a fully outsourced and high-tech security operation center. TravelShield provides rapid response in circumstances where government and infrastructure, overwhelmed by disaster or unrest, have ceased to function effectively.
Evacuation and response service coverage
Qualifying security evacuation event
An occurrence where a Member is temporarily located in a Foreign Country and officials of the US State Department issue a recommendation that travelers should evacuate such foreign country and/or the region where the traveling member is located.
Security evacuation services
TravelShield will provide, arrange, and pay all necessary and ordinary expenses for rescue, air and/or surface transport to a place of safety for the Member in the event the Traveling Member is experiencing a Qualifying Security Event and requests transport.
Qualifying medical evacuation event
An occurrence where a Member is hospitalized as an inpatient due to an illness or injury while traveling more than 150 miles from home, whether domestically or internationally, and requests a fixed wing air ambulance medical transfer.
Medical evacuation services
TravelShield will arrange and pay for air medical transportation, medical evacuation, ground transportation, and repatriation services to the hospital of choice in the Member’s home country.
Restrictions
Without a State Department evacuation notice or hospital transfer request, TravelShield cannot guarantee an evacuation, but will assist the member with resources as permitted. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for more details regarding the membership and associated services.
